It's age old and time tested. You know what you are getting when you wallpaper your house. You are getting a washable colorful wall treatment that will last for years. Unlike paint, which will need to be repainted every few years, wallpaper can usually stay up for years before removing it.
Color and Pattern

Washability
Almost all wallpaper has some vinyl, and vinyl gives the wallpaper washability. Everyone is familiar with flat paint. Although flat paints are nice and uniform in appearance that easily soiled and hard to wash without damaging or burnishing the paint film.
Variety of Patterns and Colors
Anyone who has ever been in the wallpaper section of the local paint store and thumbed through book after book of wallpaper samples knows that anyone can pretty much find any color in wallpaper to suit most decorating requirements. You can even go online now and find a wallpaper for yourself without ever leaving home.
Borders Add Just Enough Touch
Sometimes, all you need to add to a room for an accent is just a bit of wallpaper border. Wallpaper borders can be installed at the top
of the wall, just above or below a chair rail molding, or you can frame the doors and windows of the room with border. Often just adding border will spice up the room and convert it from boring to brilliant.
Accent One Wall
Another wall to add just a touch of wallpaper is to accent just one wall in a room with wallpaper. With just the cost of a couple of rolls or bolts of wallpaper and just a bit of labor you can easily add just enough color and pattern to change a room into a statement.
Wallpaper Removal
Removing wallpaper is often an unpredictable task. A lot depends on the wall preparation used before hanging the previous wallpaper.
The first thing you will do is to see if the paper will "dry strip". Often the outer vinyl will pull straight off, leaving a paper or cloth backing that will need to be soaked off.
Steaming
Some of the more stubborn papers will come off with a steamer which can be rented (or purchased). Steaming is s-l-o-w , but it is a sure removal method - most papers will come off with a steamer.
Drywall repair
If the walls were not primed or prepared properly prior to the hanging of the wallpaper, you will often need to repair the drywall after removal. This is an "unknown" in wallpaper removal meaning you don't know how much -if any- drywall repair will be required until you actually remove the wallpaper.
