HEPA Vacuums
Lead Check swabs are the only EPA approved lead test kits for Certified Renovators.  The approved kits will have one confirmation dots for every swab in the kit.

The video on the right explains how to use the kit to test for lead on a wood surface (wood trim, doors, exterior siding etc...)

Lead Check test kits currently are not EPA approved for testing for lead on drywall or plaster areas.

In lieu of a negative test result from a lead check test kit, or XRF testing by a Certified lead inspector, the Certified Renovator must assume that a pre-1978 house is painted with lead paint, and use the prescribed lead-safe work practices in the EPA training course for Certified Renovators.
