Dustless HEPA Vacuum

Multiple filtration makes the HEPA vacuum system work.  If you were to use just one filter - the HEPA final filter, as your only filter, the vacuum would quickly become clogged and you would lose suction.

Multiple filtration keeps the filter from becoming clogged.  The first filter is really a "dust collection bag", this will catch most of the the debris.  This filter is quite breathable, and will allow air to pass through it fairly easily. It will also (because of this porosity) allow some of the finer dust to pass through it.  This collection bag / filter (called the Micro Pre-filter) captures particles down to .5 microns. It is capable of holding more than 80lbs. of dirt and debris even though the vacuum is designed to be emptied with 40 lbs

Any dust that is small enough to pass through the Micro Pre-filter / collection bag, will continue in the suction stream toward the final HEPA filter. The final HEPA filter is covered with a pre-filter which protects the final HEPA filter, while providing additional filtration.

The final HEPA filter is certified to filter 99.97% of all particles greater than 0.3 microns in size - which is the definition of a HEPA filter.
