I am Dale Slater. I am a 49 year Livonia resident. My painting life started back in 1977, I painted part - time and mostly in the summers only in those days . I worked on and off in painting for the next eight years, finally deciding to make a career out of it in 1985 and officially formed “Paint-N-Stain as a sole propietorship later changing over to a corporation. My primary market from 1985 was aluminum siding refinishing in the spring , summer and fall and interior painting in the winter. I gradually got away from doing aluminum siding refinishing and developed a more balanced mix of work from wallpaper removal to drywall repair to doing more stain work as well as routine interior and exterior painting. As the years went on I trained and learned the craft of faux finishing and wallpaper hanging as well as perfecting many other painting skills - which is what “just happens” with time and experience.

I have extensive training in faux finishing taking professional workshop programs from Rocky Mountain Painting , Pratt - N - Lambert, and ProFaux learning from the renown Chuck James, Mike MacNeil, and other top faux finishers in America.

I learned wallpaper hanging (and removal) from the American School of Paperhanging Arts taught by the master paperhanger John Cox.

I have completed the Wolamn certified contractor training program for wood and deck refinishing

Workshops and contractor learning courses in wood finishing, stenciling and spray painting etc…. have been a part of my life over the last 20+ years

To Provide quality professional painting service in a friendly and courteous manner emphasizing good communication in order to achieve the customer’s expectations . I am a owner / operator, that is to say, I do the actual painting. I don’t just turn the work over to less experienced and often temporary student painters. I will be on each job and I do the work.
