Dust Containment / Dust Barrier System
Dust containment can be done quickly and effectively with the Zipwall dust barrier system.

The basic system consists of four telescoping poles which extend up from the floor to ceiling and hold in place plastic sheeting creating a dust barrier.

The whole system sets up in minutes and access into the containment area can be made through a zipper that attaches to the plastic sheeting.  The Zipwall zipper can be attached to any plastic barrier system - it does not have to be used with the Zipwall system exclusively.

Use the Zipwall dust containment system to contain drywall dust, saw dust (in a cutting area), and with demolition  and repair projects.

Use the Zipwall system for dust control on your next job.
Eliminate Dust
Use a high efficiency filter with your Shop Vac.

see Shop Vac HEPA filters
Fine dust requires a fine filter.  Job site drywall dust and other fine dusts will blow out through the exhaust of a shop vacuum that doesn't have a high efficiency filter.

Using a Zipwall dust containment barrier and cleaining up with a Hepa filtered Shop Vac. will virtually eliminate all construction site dust.
Dust Collection Bag
Keep your vacuum from clogging up

use a dust collection bag "upstream" (attached to the inlet) to catch larger dust, while using a Hepa cartridge filter as your final filter.
3M Blue Painter's Tape
Long mask and easy release tape.  Will remove cleanly and  not leave adhesive on the wall - up to 14 days for 3M 2090 and up to 60 days for 3M 2080.

Setting up a dust containment enclosure
  • Cut a strip of plastic to the length needed for the enclosure
  • Plastic sheeting is attached to the pole head assembly and the pole is extended to the ceiling and locked in place.
  • Secure the plastic at the floor by lifting the pole and placing it on the sheeting.
  • Repeat the procedure with the next pole as you continue on with enclosing the area.
Creating a zipper door in a dust containment enclosure

Place the door in a double wall section of the enclosure.  The outer wall of plastic gets the zipper and the inner wall is a “flap” unsecured at the floor so that is can be moved to gain entry into the enclosure.
